Freeks was exciting and enjoyable! It starts out colorful and mysterious, and then takes a dark turn.

The story moved along so fast — the action pulled me in and wouldn’t let me get a breath in! I had fun guessing and speculating throughout. I predicted a lot of things correctly, but there were still enough surprises to keep my interest — and I don’t mind predicting correctly if the clues are subtle enough… makes me feel smart!

The insta-flirt turned into insta-love, but I didn’t mind. There was genuine chemistry between Gabe and Mara that superseded a superficial (looks-based) insta-love connection.

freeks2Considering what they go through… It is easy to believe that while undergoing near-death situations, and while fighting for their lives, and while saving each other’s lives, emotions become more intense and things could move more quickly in the love area.

It was also predictable that Mara should be the one to save the day, but I didn’t mind that either — Mara, the fighter of evil! Cool!

All in all, a very enjoyable, exciting read!
